See Sophie. See Sophie Sleeping. Sleep Sophie, Sleep.

This is the greatest invention in the world! It's call a "SwaddleMe." Why is it so great you ask? Because it holds the babies arms down and keeps her calm (well, mostly calm).
You see, Sophie has a mind of her own already. When she sleeps she doesn't like to be restricted by anything, she despises it. So I sound like a horrible parent for buying something that she would despise, right?... but as most of you know, newborns have no control over their own arms. When Sophie is layed down to sleep, without fail, her arms start flailing about and wacking her in the head and then she wakes up screaming because these things are attacking her! So I swaddle her, and she flips out! She grunts and cries and wiggles and twists until her arms break free, and then she'll fall asleep only to be assaulted by flailing arms. It's a vicious cycle, and one that I had to break, because it was driving me crazy! So I purchased this "SwaddleMe" thing, being a skeptic that it would actually hold her arms down. So I tried it, and Sophie absolutely hates it. She screams and screams and wiggles and tries so hard to get her arms out, but she can't, so she is forced to enter dream land calmly (after the screaming ends, but at least it ends now) no longer to be assaulted by flailing arms. Now she can sleep in peace (well, mostly peace), except when she realizes that her arms are staying down.

You make me laugh. I'm glad the arm(ed) assaults are a thing of the past.

It is like a straight jacket for the child, to keep the mom out of the insane asylum from the lack of sleep :) Maybe I should get me one of those!
