My Baby is One!

Sophie turned 1 on the 15th. It's been a whole year, and she still doesn't have hair...
Here are a few pictures from our fun parties. She was spoiled rotten by all the Grandparents (Thanks for the presents!) and she loved the attention, and being able to play with her cousins. She didn't really eat the cake at the first party, she kind of just squished it in her hands. But the second party she got a little more into it.

this is her "mad" face. It's one of my favorites.

A few fun facts about what Sophie does now:
She signs "Dad", "Dog", "Bird", "Milk", "Eat", "More", and "Ball"
She is walking ALL the time, and she is so proud of herself for it!
She loves her daddy. She get's so excited to see him when he comes home and she cries when he leaves for school or work.
She has a biting problem...any suggestions? "Problem" as in- bites when she is mad, wants attention, or just need some stimulation I guess. I dunno.... do I bite her back? Oh, and she is still a "beaver" gnawing on her crib...drives me mad!
She is crazy, but she's also a lot of fun. I love that little girl and I can't believe it's been a year, but thank goodness it has!

They grow up so fast don't they?
She is such a cutie pie.
Dyson had a big biting problem too. He would lay into his cousin and bruise her arms. Everytime he would bite I would flick his cheek (it works better if you can do it while they are doing the biting) but he didn't stop completely until I was able to catch him before he bit. I clapped my hands really loudly to get his attention and then raised my voice so he knew I was serious and told him not to bite. After that he did TONS better and the problem pretty much stopped.
Good luck!

Happy 1 year!! Crazy how time flies. As for the biting thing, Lydia never had a problem with it but I did read that the best thing is to ignore it. They like the reaction they get out of it, when you say "ouch" or whatever. So ignore it and walk away is what I read. It's worth a shot.

So glad to see Sophies birthday pictures. She is looking so grown up. We're so sad you guys aren't around anymore... I don't have any suggestions about your biter... I have a pincher and that drives me nuts. She attacks my neck. I don't know what to do either. I hope all is well for you. Tell Sophie hi from Addie!!

Hmmm, biting seems to run in the family. I used to bite my cousin because she would take my toys. My mother bit me back after I drew blood on nasty cousin. I don't bite now, so I guess it worked. Remember they didn't have Child Protective Department back then. I guess now days I could report my mother and have her put in jail.:-)
Love you, your granny
