Dustin and I went apartment shopping this weekend, in anticipation for our move. The first place we went to wasn't bad, but it was far from everything, and a little ghetto, but nothing that we weren't used to. :) The price was right though. We ventured on looking at apartments and sizing them up to the first one that we checked out. Some places hadn't even vacuumed the carpet, or they had strange smells to them...gross.
Then we found a sign on the side of the road... FOR RENT. we called the number and got the details and the apartment number. It took my breath away (which isn't hard to do, since my only specification for an apartment was TWO bedrooms.). It had new carpet, new tile, tons of windows, and it felt like a home almost, compared to what we are living in now. Don't get me wrong. It is still an apartment, but talk about an upgrade!
Another couple walked in the door to see the place, so we left and called the owner. We signed up, and got it since the owner liked us. She told us that she already had two applications in, but she wanted to rent to us. sweet!
We went back to the apartment to check out what we had just gotten ourselves into. You know, just to double check.
I have a kitchen twice the size of what I have now. including a dishwasher, disposal, and.... this is exciting.... not one, but TWO lazy susans! I am so spoiled!
And TWO bedrooms! No more rolling the port-a-crib into the living room at night. And I have a washer and dryer!
And the best part is... it isn't costing us anymore than what we pay right now. amazing.
